Betrayal is Traumatic.

Who I serve

At The Couples Healing Journey, our team recognizes that betrayal in a relationship often results in a profound trauma response for the betrayed partner. Trauma, in this context, can be described as a shattering of reality—a deep shock that leaves individuals feeling numb, lost, anxious, and disempowered.

Our clinicians work collaboratively to support couples facing betrayal trauma, helping them understand what is happening, regain a sense of control, and begin the challenging process of healing and repairing their relationship.

We utilize the proven tools and skill-building strategies of the Gottman Method, focusing on what works to bring relief as efficiently as possible.

Our core mission is to reduce unnecessary suffering, especially during one of the most intense and painful human experiences—the betrayal by someone who should be a source of love and trust.

Our team is dedicated to guiding clients through this difficult journey with compassion, expertise, and hope for renewal.

We are about creating a safe and calming environment where both partners can openly share their stories and feel deeply heard, respected, and understood. Clinicians do not take sides or act as referees; instead, they focus on providing the skills and frameworks necessary for couples to work together safely and intentionally while gaining insight into what is happening.

Sessions emphasize communication skills, self-calming and grounding techniques, practical healing plans, boundary setting to regain control, and Gottman interventions designed to rebuild trust, commitment, friendship, and emotional closeness.

Betrayal work involves both trauma-informed therapy and couples counseling, requiring a full commitment from both partners—troubled and betrayer alike—to immerse themselves in understanding, supporting each other, and engaging in the healing journey.

Our team is dedicated to guiding couples through this process with compassion, expertise, and a focus on creating a pathway toward renewal.
